Alcohol Drug Screening

Alcohol drug screening is available in the following options:

  • Breath Alcohol Screen
  • Saliva Alcohol Screen

The presence of alcohol in the body may be detected by various methods.  The two used most in an employment setting are breath and saliva alcohol screenings.  Breath alcohol screens determine how much alcohol is in the blood by measuring the amount of alcohol in the air breathed and are extremely accurate, as accurate as blood testing (to .00001).  Saliva alcohol screens detect the presence of alcohol in the saliva.

Breath alcohol screens are performed at a pre-determined collection site by trained clinic personnel with complete chain of custody form for analysis and on average yield negative results within five minutes. However, if screen results are .02 or greater, the screen must be re-conducted within 15 minutes, allowing for mouthwash to dissipate.  Saliva alcohol screens are conducted on-site by company personnel, thus yielding instant results.
