MISSION, Kan. (December 21, 2009) - KC Small Business has named the 25 Under 25® class for 2010.
The awards are given to 25 local businesses with fewer than 25 employees. A black-tie gala celebration on Feb. 27, 2010 at the Downtown Marriott will honor the companies.
This is the ninth year for the awards program, and more than 1,000 nominations were received. An independent panel of judges chose the winning companies. The Class of 2010 honorees average 13 employees, 11 years in business and $2.4 million in annual average revenues.

To be considered for the award, companies had to meet three requirements:
1. Have 25 or fewer full-time (or full-time equivalent) employees.
2. Operate a for-profit business for three or more years.
3. Be located in the Greater Kansas City area.
Companies are judged on their financial stability, ability to overcome obstacles/adversity/challenges, community involvement, distinguishing or defining characteristics and company vision.
Tickets for the awards gala will go on sale Jan. 1 for $115. They will be available through www.25Under25.com. The evening will feature a cocktail reception, dinner, awards presentation and entertainment by the Dave Stephens Band.
